Yew Louie Obituary

Yew Louie, 98, of Bethlehem, died peacefully in his home during the early morning hours of Tuesday, November 21st, 2017. Affectionately known as "Bunky" to his many friends, Yew was born in Canton, China. He was the beloved husband of the late Theresa Margaret (Celecz) Louie for 44 years, who passed away in 1998.
Yew was veteran of World War II. He served with the Army's 1st Infantry, "The Big Red One". He stormed Omaha beach during the D-Day invasion, survived the Battle of the Bulge and received 5 bronze battle stars for his service in the European Theatre. After returning to Bethlehem, Yew went on to graduate from Moravian College with a Bachelors Degree in Economics. He retired from the Bethlehem Steel in 1982 after 30 years in the billing division of the accounting department. He went on to a second 30 year career at AD Computers, now JetPay Payroll. Yew enjoyed vacationing in the Poconos with his family, gardening at home, hunting and fishing with his many friends, horse collar shuffleboard and just being himself, a unique, funny, always helpful gentleman and friend to all, truly "one in a million". Yew was a lifetime member of the North End Republican Club of Bethlehem and the American Legion Post 470 in Bath, Pa.
