Vincent Buttillo Obituary
Vincent J. "Jimmy" Buttillo, 88, of Fountain Hill, passed away on Sunday, March 18, 2018 while in the care of Holy Family Manor in Bethlehem. He was the loving husband of the late Josephine (Armatruda) Buttillo, who passed away on May 31, 2014. Born in Bethlehem, he was the son of the late Jerry Buttillo, Louise (Stellato) Buttillo and Mary (Russian) Buttillo. He honorably served his country with the US Army. Jimmy worked as a pipe fitter for the Bethlehem Steel for many years, until retiring. He also worked as a salesman for Moxy Soda and was a huckster with his father in Philadelphia. He was a member of St. Ursula Catholic Church in Fountain Hill, Knights of Columbus, Tritnity Council 313, and the Fountain Hill American Legion, Post 406, where he enjoyed playing pinochle. He was also a coach for Fountain Hill Little League. Jimmy was a craftsman and was good at everything from plumbing to carpentry. He enjoyed spending time with his family and also sitting on his front porch with his wife and talking with his neighbors. He was truly selfless and was alway there to help anyone in need.
SURVIVORS: He will be lovingly remembered by his daughters Pamela Coyle of Fountain Hill, Karen Buttillo and her partner Kelly Paolello of Scranton; son Jeffrey Buttillo and his wife Amy of Dover, DE; grandchildren John Paul, Noah, Mya, and Vinny; brother Eugene Buttillo and his wife Dolores of Davenport, FL; sister Rosemarie Murphy and her husband Thomas of Bethlehem; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Louise Broughal.
SERVICES: The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, March 23, 2018 from 8:30 - 9:30 AM at Cantelmi Funeral Home, 1311 Broadway Fountain Hill, followed by a 10:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Ursula Catholic Church, 1300 Broadway, Fountain Hill. His burial will follow at Holy Saviour Cemetery. A memory tribute may be made at www.cantelmifuneralhome.com.
