Robert P. Bohning, 83, of Bethlehem, went to be with God on Sunday, June 10, 2018 at Lehigh Valley Hospital Muhlenberg. He was the husband of the late Fleurette (Troxell) Bohning whom passed away in 2006. Born in Bethlehem, he was the son of the late Harold Sr. and Mary (Muschlitz) Bohning. Bob was a graduate of Liberty High School, class of 1952. He honorably served his country in the United States Army, stationed in Kassel, Germany from 1956-1959. Bob worked for the Bethlehem Steel for over 30 years until retiring. He was very active in Youth Sports, serving as team manager for 10 years at City Line Little League and also as the baseball and soccer coach at the Bethlehem Christian School. Bob was also a dedicated blood donor for the Keystone Blood Bank for many years. He was a member of Steel City Mennonite Church.
Survivors: He will be lovingly remembered by his daughter Nancy Schnecker and her husband Robert Jr. of Bethlehem; sons Jeffrey D. Bohning, Sr. and his companion Terry of Bangor and Timothy R. Bohning and his wife Thelma of Bethlehem Twp.; brother Dwight Bohning and his wife Janice of Freemansburg; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and his loving dog Samson. Bob was preceded in death by his sons Daniel and Joel and his siblings Harold Jr. and Myrtle Frace.
Services: A Funeral Service will be held at 11 A.M. on Friday, June 15, 2018 at Steel City Mennonite Church, 2137 Mixsell Ave. Bethlehem, PA 18015. Calling hours will be held on Thursday evening from 6:30 to 8:30 P.M. at the Cantelmi Long Funeral Home, 500 Linden Street, Bethlehem, PA and also on Friday morning from 10 A.M. until time of service in the church. Burial with Military Honors will be held at Union Cemetery in Hellertown. A memory tribute may be placed at www.cantelmifuneralhome.com.
