Nina Harpel Obituary
Nina I. (nee Garland) Harpel, 103, of Bethlehem, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 28, 2017, at Manor Care Health Center. She was the wife of the late Clarence S. Harpel, with whom she shared over 55 years of marriage until his death in 1988.
Born in Clearfield, Nina was one of six children. She graduated from Bethlehem High School in 1931, and became a homemaker for her family. She enjoyed raising her family, as well as crocheting afghans and playing cards with friends. Nina was a member of St. Stephen's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Bethlehem.
Survivors: daughter Gail Wilder and her husband Richard of Rochester, NY; sons Thomas Harpel and his wife Diane of Bethlehem, David Harpel and his wife Eleanor of Mesa, AZ; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Nina was predeceased by her son, Joel Harpel, and by her five siblings.
Services: A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00AM on Monday, July 3, in the St. Stephen's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 67 W. Washington St., Bethlehem, 18018, where friends may call from 10:00 AM until time of services. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Bethlehem.
