Maylan Neimeister Obituary
Maylan V. Neimeister, 99, of Fountain Hill, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 21, 2018, at Cedarbrook Fountain Hill, while in the care of Family Pillars Hospice. She was the loving wife of the late Augustine F. "Gus" Neimeister for 68 years.
Born in Newark, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Christina Ropos. She was raised by her stepmother, the late Katherine Ropos. She was a graduate of Bethlehem Catholic High School, class of 1937. Maylan was a favorite when attending numerous alumni senior functions. She worked as the head secretary of the Sales Dept. at Sure Fit Products Co.
She was a member of St. Ursula's Catholic Church, Fountain Hill, where she sang in the church choir and was in the Women's Guild. She actively attended the Golden Hiller social functions. She was also in the St. Anne's Over 55 Club and was a member of St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church Society. Maylan was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed cooking, especially her Windish heritage dishes. Maylan also enjoyed reading, especially about history and politics, and she loved music. She was in a weekly card club which included her high school friends for over 50 years.
SURVIVORS: She will be lovingly remembered by her sons, Tom and his wife Rosemary of Bethlehem; Gus and his wife Linda of Newport Coast, CA; four grandchildren, Alison, Tommy, Kate and Steven; sister Margaret Malburg of Greensboro, NC. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
SERVICES: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 A.M., on Friday, June 1, 2018 in St. Ursula Catholic Church, 1300 Broadway, Fountain Hill. Calling hours will be on Thursday evening from 6 P.M. - 8 P.M. in Cantelmi Funeral Home, 1311 Broadway, Fountain Hill, and again on Friday morning from 9 A.M. - 10 A.M. in the church.
