Leola Crandell Obituary
Leola J. Crandell, 75 of Bethlehem passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Bruce Crandell. Born in Mango, North Dakota, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Emily (Schumaker) Kutchinske. Leola was a graduate of Fullerton High School in North Dakota. She later attended Northampton Community College where she earned her teaching certificate and became the first headstart teacher in the area. Leola also worked at Blough Nursing Home in Bethlehem as an nurses aide for 30 years until retiring. She loved to help anyone she could by volunteering for the Salvation Army in Bethlehem. Leola was a member of St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Bethlehem where she was very active.
Survivors: she will be lovingly remembered by her children, Jeffrey Crandell and his wife Nancy of Allentown, Lauri Rodriguez and her husband George of Copperas Cove, TX, Bridget Younes and her husband Maher of Whitehall and Michael Crandell and his wife Anabela of Bethlehem; brother John Kutchinske; sister Frieda Martz; 12 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Leola was preceded in death by her sister Ester Johnson.
Services: A funeral service will be held on 11 A.M. on Friday August 18, 2017 at the Cantelmi Long Funeral Home, 500 Linden Street Bethlehem, PA 18018 where the family will receive relatives and friends from 10 A.M. until time of service. Burial will take place at Cedar Hill Memorial Park, Allentown. A memory tribute may be placed at www.longfuneralhome.com
