Jay Berger Obituary

Dr. Jay B. Berger, 75, of Shrewsbury MA, formerly of Bethlehem, passed away on October 10, 2017. He was the loving husband of Ruth (Tubis) Berger, with whom he shared over 51 years of marriage.

He was the son of the late Samuel & Bertha (White) Berger, & twin brother of Joyce (Berger) Brodsky. He graduated from Bethlehem High School & Lehigh University, & then earned his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College.

He was an Internal Medicine physician throughout his 40 year career, caring for his patients in his office in Bethlehem & at St. Luke's Hospital since 1973. He was President of the St. Luke's Medical Staff 1984-85 & served on its Board of Trustees. He was also a lifelong member of Congregation Brith Sholom, serving as both a President & board member.

Survivors: Wife Ruth; Daughters: Amy Foxson & husband Bret of MD, Lisa Berger & husband Brian Barker of MD, Wendy Diamond & husband Mitchell of MA; twin sister Joyce Brodsky of Warrington; Grandchildren: Noah, Jacob, Joshua, Emily, Kayla, Miriam

Services: Visitation with family at Noon, followed by Funeral Services at 1:00 PM on Sunday, October 15, at Congregation Brith Sholom, 1190 W. Macada Rd, Bethlehem, 18017. Interment will follow at Brith Sholom Cemetery, Bethlehem. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the Cantelmi Long Funeral Home, Bethlehem. A memory tribute may be placed at www.longfuneralhome.com
