Edwin Hartman Obituary

Edwin S. Hartman II, 80, a long-time resident of Hanover Township, passed away on April 17, 2017 in San Antonio, TX, where he recently moved to live with his daughter and family. He was the husband of the late Marcia (Fritz) Hartman, who died in 2010, and with whom he shared 52 years of loving marriage.

Born in Bethlehem, he was the son of the late Edwin D. and Dorothy (Burcaw) Hartman. Ed was employed for many years at Western Electric, where he worked on the cutting edge of laser and computer technology. At the same time, he was active in the Hanover Township Volunteer Fire Company, where he was President throughout the 1970's. Ed was also very active in Masonic organizations, achieving Worshipful Master of Minsi Lodge in 1982, and working for the Scottish Rite Cathedral as a lighting engineer after he retired. He worked on hundreds of productions by MunOpCo, dance companies, and other entertainers over the last 30 years, willingly offering his support and advice. He was also a committed member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Bethlehem.

Survivors: He is survived by his daughters, Kay Mesaros, and Joanne Galindo and her husband Michael; grandchildren Jonah Galindo, Frank Mesaros and his wife Marissa, Valerie Mesaros; and great-grandchildren Angel, Natelie, and Auroara.

Services: A Masonic Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, December 23, at the Scottish Rite Cathedral, 1533 Hamilton St., Allentown, 18102. A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, December 28, at Nisky Hill Cemetery, 254 E. Church St. Bethlehem, 18018. A memory tribute may be placed at www.longfuneralhome.com
