Brucie J. Gbur

Brucie J. Gbur, of Bethlehem went to be with Lord Jesus on September 19, 2017 at her home. She was the wife of the late Stephen Gbur. Born in Fountain Hill, she was the daughter of the late Norman and Ruth (Erney) Fackenthall. Brucie was a graduate of Liberty High School in 1951. She worked for a total of 9 years at First National Bank in Bethlehem and Lehigh Valley Trust in Allentown until becoming a mother. She loved her family and was a "Stay at home Mom". She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She was a Sunday school teacher for 31 years at Calvary Baptist Church, St. Thomas and Trinity UCC. She was a member of Helping Hands and a greeter at Calvary Baptist Church. She belonged to many Bible Study groups over the years. She served in the kitchen at Calvary during Bible School for many years. Brucie was a member of the Tuesday Club of the Y.W.C.A. of Bethlehem and past president for 4 years.

Survivors: She will be lovingly remembered by her sons, Mark Gbur of Bethlehem and David Gbur and his wife Maria of Aston; daughter Wendy Madden and her husband Kenneth of Nazareth; grandchildren Amanda Keirle and her husband John, Peter Gbur, Hannah Madden and Allison Madden; great grandchildren, Julianna and Cameron Keirle and her niece Carol Bachl and her husband Frederick. Brucie was preceded in death by her siblings Gordon Fackenthall and Claire Peters.

Services: A funeral service will be held at 11 A.M. on Friday September 22, 2017 at the former Calvary Baptist Church, 111 Dewberry Ave, Bethlehem,PA 18017 where the family will receive relatives and friends from 10 A.M. until time of service at the church. Burial will take place at Bethlehem Memorial Park Cemetery. Brucie's arrangements have been entrusted to the Cantelmi Long Funeral Home, 500 Linden Street, Bethlehem, PA 18018.
