Bruce Y. Bredbenner, 84, of Bethlehem, was surrounded by the love of his family when he peacefully passed away on Thursday, August 17, 2017, at St. Luke's Hospice House, Bethlehem. He was the husband of the late Elsie (Souders) Bredbenner, and the companion of the late Catherine Gava.
Born in Reading, Bruce was the son of the late Harvey and Viola (Yocum) Bredbenner, Sr. He served in the US Air Force during the Korean War, and then worked in the linen rental industry, working his way up to General Manager of Aratex in Reading and Bethlehem, from which he retired in 1998. He then became a driver for the Radiation / Oncology Department at St. Luke's Hospital, and a school bus driver for Whitehall Township Schools. He thoroughly enjoyed square dancing, and was a member of the Lehigh Valley Bachelors and Bachelorettes Square Dancing Club. He also enjoyed traveling and listening to music. Bruce was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Belfast.
Survivors: daughter Kim Foley of Hanover Township; son Bruce R. Bredbenner and his wife Beverly of Reading; grandchildren Cheryl, Lisa, Tracy, Danielle, Matthew, Katelyn and Gabrielle; 7 great-grandchildren. Bruce was predeceased by his siblings Harvey Bredbenner, Jr. and Joyce Owens.
Services: Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM Tuesday, August 22, in the Grace Lutheran Church, 5907 Sullivan Trail, Belfast, 18064, where friends may call from 9:30 AM until time of services. Interment will follow at Berks County Memorial Gardens near Reading. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the Cantelmi Long Funeral Home, Bethlehem.
